We are always on the lookout for passionate, dedicated volunteers to help us with translation, text editing, video editing, social media, brainstorming ideas and developing training material.
Location: Sarmoli, Uttarakhand
we’re looking for someone passionate about storytelling and connecting with local communities, to drive our storytelling, partnership and social media efforts. The volunteer will need to be based out of Sarmoli, a beautiful village in the Munsiyari tehsil of Uttarakhand, and work closely with one of the VoRI’s co-founders. The volunteer will be expected to cover their own subsidized cost for lodging and food, though we can help fundraise if necessary.

Editors: We are looking for two editors with substantial past experience, who understand the challenges of this project, to contribute their time by committing to editing a handful of stories each month.
Translators: If you have a good command over multiple regional languages and enjoy translating stories, please reach out to us.
Social media: We’re looking for two volunteers to help manage the social media platforms of Voices of Rural India. Consider joining our team if you have past experience in social media management, enjoy creating visuals and short videos and have creative ideas for our channels.
WordPress: We are looking for someone familiar with WordPress who would like to help us in publishing stories.
SEO: If you have worked with content optimisation, we would love to have you on board to help with SEO.
Photography: We’re building a reserve of photographs from across India to supplement our stories. If you’d like to contribute your collection for use on this platform with credit, please get in touch.
